Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels serves approximately 50 meals per day, 5 days per week and is run by volunteers. Each recipient receives one hot meal per day, 5 days per week, which enables some of them to be able to live in their homes longer, rather than go into an assisted living facility. This ministry is funded by donations only and has volunteer cooks and drivers, and cooks/drivers coordinators, all of whom feel that this is a very special ministry.
This ministry not only provides a hot meal, but also (and perhaps more importantly) human contact with someone every day. This has proven to be very beneficial when there has been an illness or accident that no one would have known about otherwise.
